First Grade

  Please click on the Newsletter link below for current  information on what we are learning this month in our classes.  Spelling lists will be put online on Mondays no later than 6 PM.  Feel free to E-Mail us with any of your questions or concerns. 

4th Quarter Science Project
   As we enter spring and approach the end of the year, both classes will be doing an Animal Science Project.  The project will be introduced in class and completed at home.  Students have selected an animal to research and write about.  They took the pamphlets home and read them with parents.  We will begin the project this week.  Please have students bring the animal pamphlet to school every day in their "Going Home" folders.  They will need to refer to the pamphlets during science.  Instructions will go home with the students as certain parts are due.  They will also be posted on the website Newsletter under science.  The website Newsletter might be a day or two off since both classes do not have the same science lesson on the same day. 

Ms. Camelio's class is working on copying the final draft of the animal description and adaptations.  This is due Wednesday, May 12. 

Mrs. Dunham's class is working on the animal illustration.  This is due on Thursday, May 13. 

Class News:

 Please sign up ourside Ms. Camelio's class to be a celebrity reader if you have not done so! 

Mrs. Dunham's class is now heading towards Saturn and 300 AR points.  No class has ever achieved such a high number of AR points before,
so we are in uncharted territory.  Possibilities include a root beer float party or a popsicle party.  However, I don't think either of these would work well in the library.
