***Note regarding nightly reading***

In alignment with our school-wide reading initiative, we want students to spend at least 20 min per night, at least 5 nights per week, reading a "just right" book --- one that s/he can read and understand independently.  This is to be pleasureable reading as we endeavor to instill a lifelong love of reading.  Parents are asked to initial the agenda on the "one month" page (p. 65 for Jan).  Your initials on a date indicate that your child read 20 min or more at home that day.  I'm looking for at least 5 dates initialed per 7-day week.
