
Use the internet to help with schoolwork, it’s like having the largest library but with a few differences. People can put anything they want on the internet. Books and magazines have review boards or someone to edit information before publishing, the internet does not. So be a wise detective and watch out for cyber crime! What is cyber crime?
Some questions to ask?
- Who created the site and what are his or her qualifications?
- Are they biased or trying to sell you something?
- Can you change information on their site?
- When was the site last revised?
- Where did this person get their information from?
- Can you find the same information in another source?
Remember to always give credit to intellectual property (information, ideas, music, pictures etc.). It might be yours one day.
