Use the internet to help with schoolwork, it’s like having the largest library but with a few differences.  People can put anything they want on the internet.  Books and magazines have review boards or someone to edit information before publishing, the internet does not.  So be a wise detective and watch out for cyber crime!  What is cyber crime?
Some questions to ask?

  • Who created the site and what are his or her qualifications?
  • Are they biased or trying to sell you something?
  • Can you change information on their site?
  • When was the site last revised?
  • Where did this person get their information from?
  • Can you find the same information in another source?

Remember to always give credit to intellectual property (information, ideas, music, pictures etc.).  It might be yours one day.
