In fourth grade, students explored how muscles control bones to move the body. They built a model of a human finger and observed how pulling a string, representing a tendon, caused the finger to bend at its joints. In the Makerspace, the students collaborated in teams to create fully functioning hands using their robotic finger models.
We Grow Difference-Makers
Providing A Meaningful Educational Experience For Your Child To Reach Their Full Potential
Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade
Since our founding as an independent school in 1959, Barnhart offers our students balanced academic excellence within a welcoming and diverse community. We recognize our children all have unique gifts and talents, and we create an environment in which they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our exceptional academic program ensures our children learn in a respectful and caring atmosphere and develop into the difference-makers our world desperately needs. We believe the character of our students and who they are is critical to the journey to becoming successful adults, and we're honored and proud to partner with our families along the way.
Our programs are designed to foster a love of learning and prepare our students to succeed in the classroom and in the real world. At Barnhart, your child will experience the benefit of small class sizes and hands-on learning experiences in our 15-to-1 student-teacher ratio. This allows our teachers and specialists to develop and foster meaningful student/teacher relationships.
Barnhart guides and assists our students in developing integrity, intelligence, curiosity, and compassion. Our commitment is to shape them into lifelong learners making a positive difference in our world.
Esperanza Hope Scholarship
Our students participate in the Odyssey of the Mind program every year. This international program emphasizes teamwork, budgeting, time management, and public speaking. It is designed to help students at all learning levels grow as learners, develop their teamwork skills, and reach their full potential.
MindPrint assesses cognitive skills to better support our students in learning more efficiently and personalizing their instruction by understanding their strengths and needs.
