In fourth grade, students explored how muscles control bones to move the body. They built a model of a human finger and observed how pulling a string, representing a tendon, caused the finger to bend at its joints. In the Makerspace, the students collaborated in teams to create fully functioning hands using their robotic finger models.
A Meaningful Educational Experience TK-8th Grade
Since our founding as an independent school in 1959, we recognize that each child has unique gifts and talents, and we create an environment in which they can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our exceptional robust academics program ensures that children learn in a respectful and caring atmosphere while helping them develop into difference-makers our world needs.
We believe that a student's character is essential to their journey toward becoming successful adults, and we are honored to partner with families along the way.
Our programs are designed to inspire a love of learning and equip students for success both in the classroom and the real world. At Barnhart, your child will benefit from our intentionally small class sizes and hands-on learning experiences. This approach allows our teachers and specialists to build meaningful relationships with each student.
