Summer School

Barnhart offers K-8 students balanced academic excellence within a welcoming and diverse community. We recognize that children all have unique gifts and talents, and we create an environment in which they can thrive academically as well as socially and emotionally.

Our summer program offers full day summer camp sessions and academic enrichment courses. This fully-featured, renowned program is designed to stimulate, challenge, and captivate, and is open to all. Formed out of a tradition of excellence that is well known and valued in the local community, this exciting program prides itself on its ability to provide a wide range of outstanding options to appeal to any child. 

Parents of program participants are able to enjoy the comfort of knowing that their child is being cared for by a team of dedicated specialists and educators who are committed to providing a warm and friendly environment that is mentally engaging and most importantly-always fun.

The enrichment and academic program is divided into two, three-week sessions to maximize sign up opportunities and remain flexible with your schedule. All academic courses are led by a dedicated team of hands-on childcare specialists, instructors, and teachers who are committed to a tradition of excellence. Barnhart School believes strongly that learning and growth are at their best, when students are encouraged to question, experiment, and take the lead in a friendly and professional child-centered environment. Students and participants of the Barnhart Summer Program are able to remain engaged in thought provoking, zany activities and courses within a support system that prides itself on individual attention for each and every child.

Summer Camp

The camp experience offers children a chance to explore a wide range of activities throughout the day. We encourage each students individuality by creating an environment where students can learn create, explore and have fun.

The activities range from water play, scavenger hunts, arts and team sports. Students are separated into age groups and lead through each activity by our experienced camp counselors who are on staff year round.  

Our team of professional camp counselors are enthusiastic about working with children. The camp program engages students in various educational and sports activities. We design a safe environment which allows children to create and push their physical abilities while being encouraged by our team.

Tuition and Fees

  • $175 per class/per period during our two, 3-week sessions
     
  • Full payment for all programs is due Friday, May 31, 2019
     
  • There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee due upon registration
     
  • There is no prorating for missed days. (family vacations, other
 programs, sickness)
     
  • All payments must be made through our online registration site
     
  • Register by MONDAY, APRIL 15, 2019 to take advantage of our Early Registration Pricing
     
  • $315/week for Full-day Summer Camp
    • Dino Camp: June 17 - June 20, 2019
    • Super Spy School: August 5 - 9, 2019

Extended Care

  • After care is provided for an hour after camp (June 17-20 AND August 5-9) between 4:30pm - 5:30pm for $10

  • Morning care is provided for an hour before classes (June 24 - August 2) between 7:30am - 8:30am for $10

  • After care is provided from 2:45pm and 5:30pm during both sessions (June 24 - August 2) for $20

  • A fee of $1 a minute will be applied for late pick-ups (after 5:30pm)

  • Emergency after care is available but must be reserve in the front office (phone calls). Payment is due the same day

Class Changes Policies

  • You can request a class change to your schedule by contacting the summer school directly via email at jchavez@barnhartschool.org

  • There is a $15 fee for each class, camp and after care schedule change.

  • The change fee must be paid before a child attends a new class.

  • Class changes can be made up until the first day of each session

Refund Policies

  • You may sign up for refund insurance when you register for classes online for a small, additional fee. Barnhart School does not offer any refunds if you do not sign up for the refund insurance.

  • Notification to withdraw must be made by contacting the summer school director via email at jchavez@barnhartschool.org

  • No refund for any unused child care days

Cancellation

We reserve the right to cancel any class that does not meet minimum enrollment requirements. Affected students may select an alternative class or obtain a refund for that cancelled class minus the $75 registration fee.

Summer Camp

Each summer we have two weeks of summer camp put on by our Bobcat Adventures team. The first week of camp is the week before Session 1 and the second camp week follows our final week of Session 2.

For Summer 2019, we are excited to bring you two fun weeks of camp! The cost is $315 per week.

  • Dino Camp: June 17 - June 20, 2019
    Travel back in time with Bobcats this summer, we’re heading back to a place where dinosaurs ruled the Earth. This week students will discover everything there is to know about dinosaurs. We will uncover fossils, learn the basics of paleontology, and have lots of fun playing dinosaur games.

  • Super Spy School: August 5 - 9, 2019
    This August Bobcats are recruiting future Super Spies. Kids will take part in a variety of Secret Super Spy training, code breaking techniques, covert and evasion tactics to solve missions. You will be put to the test to earn your Super Spy badge.

Online Registration Steps

REGISTERING ONE STUDENT

  • Select your child's grade in the grade box on the left hand side of the screen
  • ADD the periods you child will be attending to the cart
  • Click the Orange CONTINUE tab on the right side of the screen when you're ready to move on 
  • Enter the email address you plan on using and that you'll check more frequently over the summer. 
  • Click agree on the pop-up and hit NEXT button
  • Enter your child's information
  • The next step is to select the classes by period. You will see all the available classes and a description of that class for the period you have selected. Please select one class for each period you're enrolled in. Click CONTINUE after you select a class
  • Before you select the class in the next period, you will have to select the person who is attending the class
  • Once you're done choosing the classes for each period, you'll be directed to the Registration Form.
    • If you'd like to add another student scroll to the top of the page and select ADD SESSIONS. You'll have to go through the class selection process again, but under the who is attending question, register the new student.
  • Complete the Registration Form and continue on to payment

REGISTERING TWO OR MORE STUDENTS

  • Select ALL your each child's grade levels in the grade filter box on the left hand side of the screen
  • ADD the periods your children will be attending to the cart.
    • For every child, if your children are close in age and fall under the same age group (ie: 3rd and 4th grade), add the period in the cart and change the quantity in the periods to 2 instead of 1.
  • Click the Orange CONTINUE tab on the right side of the screen when you're ready to move on
  • Enter the email address you plan on using and that you'll check more frequently over the summer.
  • Click agree on the pop-up and hit NEXT button
  • Enter the student information for each child, one at a time
  • The next step is to select the classes by period. You will see all the available classes and a description of that class for the period you have selected. Please select one class for each period per child. Click CONTINUE after you select a class
  • Before you select the class in the next period, you will have to select the person who is attending the class. This is where you’ll have control over which child you’re registering to each class. 
  • Once you're done choosing the classes for each period, you'll be directed to the Registration Form.
  • Complete the Registration Form and continue on to payment
