There are many meaningful ways to support Barnhart beyond traditional donations. Whether you’re planning for the future, making a gift through stock transfers, or maximizing your contribution with a matching gift, your generosity helps sustain our mission and enrich the lives of our students. Explore the options below to find the giving method that’s right for you.
• Planned Giving - Leave a Lasting Legacy at Barnhart - By including Barnhart in your planned giving, you establish a meaningful legacy that will benefit future generations of students. Your considerate gift ensures that our mission—providing exceptional education rooted in values—continues to thrive for years to come. We are truly honored to be part of your legacy. To ensure your wishes are carried out as intended, we strongly recommend consulting with your attorney, estate planner, or financial advisor when making your gift arrangements. Please note that while Barnhart appreciates your generosity, we cannot provide legal or financial advice.
• Stock Transfers - Donations of appreciated securities, usually common stock, provide a tax-efficient way of making your gift. Gifts of appreciated securities, held for more than one year, may entitle you to a charitable income tax deduction for the fair market value of the securities on the date of the gift. Additionally, you may avoid the capital gains tax that would otherwise be due on the appreciation if the security were sold. Please note that Barnhart is not able to give legal or financial advice. Please consult your attorney or financial advisor.
• Matching Gifts Double or Even Triple The Impact - What are matching gifts? Corporate matching is a form of philanthropy in which companies match charitable contributions made by their employees to eligible nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they can request a matching gift from their employer, effectively doubling—or even tripling—their impact.
Most companies match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some may offer more generous programs, matching at 2:1 or even 3:1. It's an easy way to increase the value of your gift and make an even greater difference to Barnhart. Check with your employer to see if your company has a matching gift program and how you can participate.
